LOVE VS. HATE

Love vs. Hate
Ok, I've traveled the world numerous times and have been in some really insane situations such as being stuck in jakarta, indonesia and having the airlines say your flight is cancelled so we're putting you up in a 4 star hotel. I remember thinking, 'hmm, I wonder what their definition of 4* hotel means?'. After a couple of hours in the cab during a stormy night I glanced out the wet window seeing some really 'ghetto' ghettos thinking 'Oh crap, where are they taking me?', then after a little while seeing some pretty nice looking hotels thinking 'Hey, stop here, this looks sweet.' The cab driver kept going making my mind go through the ups and downs like a flying on a windy and not so windy day. Finally, we came to a place, it looked pretty sweet! I really wanted to take the scum off of my oily body, hate that feeling, and just take a shower and go to sleep. So I grabbed my big bags and was lead to my room from a cool guy who spoke no english. At first glance it looked nice. That was a glance though. Soon as he shut the door it seemed as if all the mosquitos in Indonesia flew in my room or were just waiting to suck my blood which for some odd reason they have always loved to do. Worst ever!!!! I threw my travel gear down and started fighting the evil flyiing blood suckers! I was winning the battle after killing like 15 of them. So after my first battle I thought to myself, it's shower time! Washed the body, felt like a newer man. Time to sleep. I blast the AC on high cause I hate sweating while I sleep. I try to get comfortable, the light is still on. I look towards a wall that I haven't viewed yet for some reason. CRAP! There's dirt all over it. What the heck!! Little did I know, there was dirt on all the walls, some with more than others. Nightmare! I figured, I don't have to touch the walls, no worries, I'm going to sleep. Lights off. Soon as I stop moving and shifting around I hear the buzz by my ear I've heard soo many times in my life here on earth. NOOO!!!, there's still mosquitos in here!! Bummer! So I turn on the lamp and try to stay as still as possible and let the mosquitos come to me for my blood so I can KILL! Second battle! I did this for like a half hour! I ended up killing them all and finally fell asleep.
Just for your info, in jakarta/indonesia it has been known for people to get malaria by mosquitos. JUST GREAT!!!
A big part of my trip to Indonesia that is missing, is the fact that I had already spent time there on a surf/photo trip. And honestly, it was the most perfect waves I have ever surfed in my life. So perfect at times that it was wierd.
So, part of the trip was perfect waves, part of the trip was one of my worst nightmares (mosquito infested dirty hotel room, scared to catch malaria).
Which brings me to the Title of this post: Love vs. Hate
This Vespitos trip was to some degree like the story above. A lot of good times and a lot of bad times.
All in all, the Good times beat the Bad times.
I hope the documentary film reveals this to you all!
Love wins!
